Shelby Bamford, is a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). I have a Masters of Arts in Counselling Psychology. I have a passion for working with Adults (18 plus) who are grieving, experiencing anxiety, and/or who are burnt out. I use an individualized person-centered approach, to honor the uniqueness of your life experiences.
I use techniques from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Grief Therapy, and Brainspotting, to name a few. It is okay if you do not know what all this entails, that is what I am here for.
I enjoy anything that comes to mind when you think of Autumn (cozy sweaters, bonfires, mazes, etc.). I bring some of those aspects into my therapy approach, wanting you to feel comfortable, relaxed, and open-minded to try different paths to see if they lead you out of the complex maze of your presenting concern.
Therapy is an ongoing process, as we gain deeper self-awareness it leads us into new perspectives, and often presents new concerns. We will start with a goal and see where it takes us. I look forward to seeing where your therapy journey leads you.

My name is Olivia Gilmer-Chekosky and I am a bilingual Clinical Social Worker (MSW. RSW) & Yoga Teacher. I primarily work with young adults (16+) looking to be supported with their nervous system dysregulation, life transitions and trauma. I also have a special interest in working with Performing Artists.
I believe in a holistic approach to health and wellness and think it is crucial to look at the individual as a whole being capable of healing if given the tools, safety and time to do so. I strongly believe that most symptoms and patterns of behaviour stem from past experiences that the body and brain have held on to survive.
I have experience working in community, hospital and school settings and bring this knowledge and experience with me into my private practice.
I believe every individual has an inherent ability to heal and to come back to Self and I look forward to witnessing this process.
Through somatic approaches, yoga, EMDR or talk therapy, we will find what works for YOU!

Are you feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or simply needing space to reconnect with yourself? Life can feel especially heavy during times of transition, whether it’s the school stress, a change in relationship dynamics, or just the quiet realization that something needs to shift. My clients include individuals exploring their identity, young adults navigating pressure and uncertainty, teens working through emotional ups and downs, and couples trying to better understand and support each other. Many come in looking for clarity, emotional safety, and a place to pause and reset. I’m here to offer that, without judgment, and at your pace.
I help individuals overcome trauma, anxiety, and stress with EMDR, a powerful tool for healing past wounds. For couples, I utilize EFT and Gottman methods to enhance communication, heal the effects of betrayal, strengthen connections, and break conflict cycles. Together, we’ll work toward safety, connection, and meaningful change.
Starting therapy can feel vulnerable, even if part of you knows it’s time. You don’t need to have it all figured out. Helping people live better lives is our passion. It might mean learning to set boundaries, working through a loss or life transition, or changing a pattern of behaviours that keeps you stuck. I’m here to walk with you whenever you are ready.

Social Work
Social Workers are trained mental health professionals who provide counselling and therapy to support individuals, couples, and families through life’s challenges. They help clients navigate concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, relationships, and life transitions, while also connecting them with practical resources and supports when needed.
At Thrive Together, our Social Workers use evidence-based approaches to create a safe, supportive space for growth and healing. While they may practice psychotherapy, they do not use the title “psychotherapist.” All of our Social Workers are registered with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW), ensuring accountable, ethical, and effective care.
